Punjab Begins Flood Relief and Rehabilitation Operations Under CM Maryam Nawaz’s Directives

In view of the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, rehabilitation and relief of flood victims has been started. An important meeting was held at the PDMA Head Office under the chairmanship of Relief Commissioner Punjab Nabeel Javed. The meeting reviewed the damage caused by the flood and the framework for providing relief. Officers of the Irrigation, Agriculture, Local Government, C&W, Urban Unit and other departments attended the meeting. Instructions were issued to prepare a detailed joint survey report of the flood-affected areas. Relief Commissioner Punjab Nabeel Javed said that the survey will include the flooded area, crop loss and financial estimate. Officers of the Agriculture, Irrigation and Revenue departments will participate in the survey. The list of affected areas will be prepared from SUPARCO satellite data. PDMA Punjab has issued a proforma to determine the financial losses. All districts will immediately submit the report as per the proforma. Full financial assistance will be provided to the flood-affected people. In view of the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the provision of aid will be made available to the citizens in a transparent and easy manner.
