Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Launch Economic Cooperation Framework to Boost Strategic Partnership

Riyadh (28 October 2025, Nazrana Times):

In a major step to enhance bilateral relations, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have agreed to launch a comprehensive Economic Cooperation Framework between the two brotherly nations.
The announcement came during their meeting held in Riyadh on Monday, 27 October 2025 (5 Jamada Al-Awwal 1447H), reflecting the depth of the historic partnership between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, which has spanned nearly eight decades.
According to the joint statement, the new framework is rooted in shared economic interests and aims to further strengthen trade, investment, and development cooperation between the two countries. It underscores both nations’ commitment to advancing their strategic partnership in a way that benefits their people and supports long-term regional stability and prosperity.
Under this framework, both sides will explore high-impact projects in key sectors including energy, industry, mining, information technology, tourism, agriculture, and food security. The statement also confirmed that discussions are underway to sign two key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) — one for the electricity interconnection project between the Kingdom and Pakistan, and another for cooperation in the field of energy.
The initiative aims to empower the private sector, increase trade exchange, and promote mutual investment opportunities. It also aligns with the shared vision of both countries to build a sustainable and future-oriented economic partnership.
The leaders reaffirmed their desire to convene the Saudi-Pakistani Supreme Coordination Council, further strengthening institutional collaboration between Riyadh and Islamabad.
The joint framework reflects the brotherly bond, Islamic solidarity, and mutual trust that continue to define the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, paving the way for a new era of strategic economic cooperation.
