The concluding ceremony of the Children’s Gurmat Camp organized at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Heilbronn was held in a spiritually uplifting and enthusiastic atmosphere. Around 65 children and adults participated in the camp and gained valuable knowledge of Gurmat, Sikh history, and the Punjabi language.
During the camp, Punjabi teachers Bibi Rajwinder Kaur, Bibi Gurleen Kaur, and Bibi Rajwant Kaur rendered commendable services in connecting children with the Punjabi language. The Gurdwara’s Granthi, Bhai Ravel Singh, devotedly taught children the basics of tabla.
Bhai Jagdish Singh Akhan from Sikh Sandesh Germany provided detailed teachings on Gurbani grammar, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and the historical events of Saka Sarsa River, Saka Chamkaur, and Saka Sirhind. The sangat’s questions regarding Sehaj Paath were answered satisfactorily, inspiring 11 devotees (8 respected women and 3 men) to undertake Sehaj Paath, which became one of the camp’s major achievements.
The Gurdwara Management Committee and the Granthi Singh organized Gurmat classes and written examinations for the children, achieving a 100 percent result. A quiz competition was also held in the presence of the sangat, with boys’ and girls’ teams competing enthusiastically and scoring equal marks, demonstrating excellent knowledge of Sikh history.
Training in tying the turban (Dastaar) was provided to children and adults by Bhai Sohan Singh, Bhai Gabar Singh, and Bhai Gobind Singh. The main objective of the camp was to connect children and youth with Sikh values and Gurmat, an effort strongly supported by parents who brought their children with great enthusiasm.
At the concluding ceremony, participating children and volunteers were honored with prizes. Stage duties were performed by Bhai Sohan Singh. At the end, the Gurdwara Management Committee expressed heartfelt thanks to the entire sangat, teachers, and volunteers for their participation and dedicated services.
