Under the spirit of "Flood Relief: The Entire Nation United", the Punjab Home Department has launched an online portal for the registration of Civil Defence volunteers. Citizens can now register online as Civil Defence volunteers in their respective districts. To register, citizens must sign up on the Civil Defence online portal VCD.HOME.GOP.PK and provide the required information so that they can be contacted. For the convenience of citizens, in addition to the online portal, a WhatsApp number 03349990978 has also been issued. Citizens can send their name and the district where they wish to serve to this number. Speaking about the launch of the online portal and volunteer registration, Secretary Home Punjab Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Punjab, relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood victims are ongoing. Civil Defence Punjab is working in the field 24/7 to assist the flood-affected. He said that now every citizen can also become part of this great mission to support their flood-affected compatriots. Citizens may volunteer as doctors, medical staff, relief camp workers, divers, veterinary doctors, boatmen, or in other capacities. He further stated that Pakistanis have always proven themselves a dignified and united nation in times of hardship.
