University of Plymouth and UOL Launch Pakistan’s First Transnational Education Partnership

The University of Lahore (UOL) hosted a ceremony to formally launch a transnational education partnership with the University of Plymouth, UK, aimed at expanding international academic opportunities for students in Pakistan.
The ceremony was attended by Ben Warrington, Head of the Lahore Office of the British High Commission, as chief guest. The University of Plymouth delegation was led by Professor Vladimir Bogdan Ghita, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Transnational Education.
The event was presided over by Awais Raoof, Chairman of the Board of Governors of The University of Lahore, along with Dr Samina Shah, Dean of the Department of International Qualifications.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ben Warrington said the UK-Pakistan education partnership would bring greater academic opportunities closer to students in Pakistan and help them build knowledge and confidence. He said the UK remained committed to strengthening educational links between Punjab and the UK, with the British Council playing an important role in supporting the partnership.

Awais Raoof described the launch as a significant milestone for The University of Lahore and said the new Transnational Education Partnership would create wider educational opportunities for students. He congratulated those involved in the initiative and appreciated the efforts that contributed to its launch.
Professor Vladimir Bogdan Ghita said the partnership had involved both academic and collaborative efforts. He also highlighted opportunities for future students and discussed prospects for collaborative research between the two institutions.
During the ceremony, a video presentation outlined the scope of the UOL-Plymouth partnership. Commemorative shields were subsequently presented to the distinguished guests and visiting delegation in recognition of their participation and support.
The event concluded with the formal launch of the new programmes, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony, fireworks and a group photograph.
The partnership marks a new step in The University of Lahore’s efforts to expand international academic collaboration and provide students with broader educational and research opportunities.
