Islamabad, Nazrana Times:
The Global Pak Kashmir Supreme Council (GPKSC) organized a seminar at the National Press Club Islamabad to observe Black Day, marking the anniversary of India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. The event was hosted by GPKSC Chairman Raja Sikander Khan and President of the Women’s Wing Mishal Masood, and attended by prominent political and community figures.
In his opening address, Chairman Raja Sikander Khan welcomed participants and highlighted the significance of October 27, a date remembered for India’s forceful occupation of Kashmir. He reaffirmed the Council’s unwavering commitment to raising its voice at every national and international platform for the right to self-determination of the people of Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The seminar was addressed by several notable speakers, including former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan, British Lord Nazir Ahmed, former AJK Minister Chaudhry Riaz Mahmood, Dr. Syed Nazir Gilani, Syed Shabbir Ahmed, Raja Abdul Rauf, and Mishal Masood.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Masood Khan recalled that October 27, 1947, remains a tragic chapter in history when Indian forces invaded Jammu and Kashmir, killing over 250,000 Muslims. He lauded the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and said Pakistan has kept the legitimate struggle for Kashmir’s freedom alive.
Lord Nazir Ahmed condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling them “experts in deception.” He urged the international community to expose their false narratives and praised the resilience of the Pakistani nation and armed forces.
Dr. Syed Nazir Gilani described the Kashmir issue as “simple yet tragic,” stating that India violated international law by occupying Kashmir under a false pretext of accession. He emphasized that the region has since suffered from ongoing human rights violations and military oppression.
Speakers collectively called for stronger international advocacy, urging global powers and organizations to support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and condemn the continued human rights abuses in the occupied valley.
