Sant Baba Sukha Singh Ji, the current head of Sampraday Kar Sewa Sant Baba Tara Singh Ji Sarhali Sahib, and Sant Baba Hakam Singh Ji today laid the foundation stone of the gate on the link road of the historical place Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib Chohla Sahib. On this occasion, Sant Baba Sukha Singh Ji said, “Chohla Sahib is a historical town, which has received the touch of the feet of the Gurus. With the construction of this gate, not only will the beauty of Chohla Sahib town increase, but every visitor will also know about the history of this place. The earlier name of this village was Bhaini. In 1654 AD, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Mata Ganga Ji and the child (Guru) Hargobind Sahib were also there. A woman from the village Bhaini gave a room to Guru Ji for his residence, where the Gurdwara 'Guru Ki Kothri' is today. One day, Guru Ji was performing bhajans and bandagi, when the woman brought a bowl of ghee and sugar in a brass bowl and placed it before Guru Ji with reverence. When Guru Ji removed the handkerchief from above, he was very happy and said, 'Mother has made a blanket for us and brought it.' Therefore, this village became famous as Chohla Sahib instead of Bhaini.
