In a spectacle that fused political power with grand tradition, Junaid Safdar—grandson of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz—married Shanze Ali, granddaughter of ex-MNA Sheikh Rohail Asghar, in a closely watched ceremony this week.

The main Nikah, solemnized by the spiritual successor of Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani's shrine, was held at a private Lahore estate. It served as a gathering of the country's political apex, with former PM Nawaz Sharif, current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, alongside senior ministers and family members in attendance.
A detail that captured public discussion was the stipulated Mahr (dower) of 125,000 Pakistani rupees, noted for its symbolic moderation amidst the opulent celebrations.
The marriage cements an alliance between two influential political families. The festivities, spanning three days under strict security blanket, culminated in the Nikah.
