Provincial Minister for Sports, Punjab, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, formally inaugurated the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign held at Farooq Hospital, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore. The event was attended by doctors, medical experts, social figures, a large number of women, and the hospital administration.
While addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Minister urged women across Punjab to immediately consult their doctor if they notice any lump or abnormality in the body, emphasizing that timely screening and treatment can save lives. “Breast cancer is not an incurable disease; however, early diagnosis and treatment are crucial,” he said. Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar stated that the Government of Punjab is fully committed to ensuring women’s health and well-being. He appreciated the efforts of private institutions and hospitals, adding that such awareness campaigns will be further promoted through public-private partnerships. “The Punjab government will continue to provide full support to all such initiatives aimed at raising awareness and reducing the fear associated with this disease,” he said. The Minister further emphasized that social organizations and educational institutions should play their role in promoting health awareness among the public. “We all must actively participate in acts of service and goodness. In today’s age, health awareness is vital so that every individual can act responsibly toward their own and their loved ones’ well-being,” he added.
Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar also lauded the services of the hospital administration, noting that such initiatives spread a message of hope, awareness, and improvement within society.
