Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Calls for Global Religious Harmony Amid Rising Islamophobia in India

KARACHI / ISLAMABAD / LAHORE, January 31

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has urged the world to reaffirm its commitment to tolerance, compassion, and peaceful coexistence. Speaking on World Interfaith Harmony Week, he called on the international community to take serious note of growing Islamophobia and hostility toward religious minorities in India.
“Harmony between faiths is the language of humanity—it heals wounds, builds trust, and strengthens societies,” Bilawal said. He highlighted Pakistan’s pluralistic heritage, recalling the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the democratic legacy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Bilawal emphasized that extremism grows where dialogue is suppressed and urged scholars, youth, educators, and civil society to reject hatred, protect minority rights, and promote dialogue. “A nation that respects every faith upholds humanity and moves forward with strength and hope,” he added.
