Chandigarh, February 22, Jugraj Singh Sarhali
Khadur Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, who is lodged in Dibrugarh jail, is in danger of being a member of Parliament due to his absence from the Lok Sabha. After hearing the petition filed by Amritpal in the Punjab and Haryana High Court yesterday, the next date has been given to February 25. The MP has requested the High Court to allow him to participate in the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. The High Court said during the hearing that the court wants to keep an eye on the technical aspects during this time and the technical aspects can be discussed on February 25. In fact, the petition has cited that according to the rules, if he remains absent from the proceedings of the Lok Sabha for 60 days, then his membership can be cancelled. It has been argued that he has not been able to participate in the proceedings of the Lok Sabha for 46 days.
