Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, Officiating Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, has extended warm greetings to the Sikh Sangat across the world on the sacred occasion of the Parkash Gurpurb of the Fourth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Ramdas Ji.
He said that Sri Guru Ramdas Ji, through devoted service and association with Sri Guru Amardas Ji, imbibed the true virtues of Sikh faith and always lived as a humble and selfless servant in the Guru’s house. Despite sharing a close familial bond with the Third Guru, Sri Guru Ramdas Ji earned the divine light of Guruship through true faith, humility, and unwavering dedication, becoming the fourth successor of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s divine light.
Jathedar Gargajj further said that after ascending the Guruship, the Fourth Guru composed Gurbani in thirty ragas, imparting to humanity the teachings of divine love, humility, service, spiritual devotion, unity, and becoming worthy of Almighty’s grace.
He noted that Sri Guru Ramdas Ji founded the city of Amritsar and settled fifty-two types of artisans and tradespeople there. The Guru also constructed the sacred Amrit Sarovar (holy tank), where even today devotees, free from all social discrimination of caste, creed, or status, bathe and receive the Guru’s divine and spiritual blessings.
Jathedar Gargajj appealed to the entire Sikh community to draw inspiration from the life of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji and to dedicate themselves to the spirit of sewa (selfless service), humility, and voluntary service for the progress, unity, and welfare of the Panth and humanity. He emphasized that every Sikh should live by the ideals of Gurbani and Bana (Sikh identity) and connect the coming generations with Gurmat (Guru’s wisdom) and Sikh principles.
