Pakistan Finalizes Arrangements for 556th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Ali Imran Chattha Lahore, November 2, 2025 (Nazrana Times ) Under the supervision of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony, Pakistan has finalized all arrangements for the 556th birth anniversary (Gurpurab) of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
According to Nasir Mushtaq, Additional Secretary Shrines of the ETPB, preparations for the annual religious event have been completed, including accommodation, langar (community kitchen), transportation, cleanliness, and health facilities. He said that in consultation with the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC), all gurdwaras are fully ready to host pilgrims.

“We want to leave a lasting impression of love, peace, and respect on our Sikh guests so they return to India and the rest of the world with pleasant memories of Pakistan,” Mushtaq said.

Pilgrims to Enter Pakistan via Wagah Border on November 4
Thousands of Sikh pilgrims from across the world are arriving to participate in the celebrations, while Indian Sikh yatris are set to enter Pakistan via the Wagah Border on November 4. They will be welcomed by Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq, PSGPC President Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, and other officials before traveling to Nankana Sahib under tight security.

Main Ceremony on November 5 at Nankana Sahib

Foolproof security measures have been implemented involving Rangers, Police, Special Forces, and the Board’s own security personnel. Metal detectors have been installed, and a strict “zero tolerance” policy is being enforced. VIP transport services will also be available to facilitate the pilgrims.
As per directives from Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and ETPB Chairman Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chauhan, all Sikh pilgrims arriving from India and abroad will be received with “greater respect, honor, and hospitality than ever before,” Mushtaq added.
