SGPC Sends Clean Drinking Water and Food to Flood-Affected School Children in Punjab

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has dispatched clean drinking water and food items to school children in the flood-affected villages of Harra Kalan and Lakhuwal. The initiative was launched following a social media appeal by a school teacher, who highlighted the severe shortage of safe drinking water due to flood contamination.

On the instructions of SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Chief Secretary S. Kulwant Singh Maan assigned Manager S. Rajinder Singh Ruby to ensure immediate arrangements for the children. With the support of local members S. Amrik Singh Vichhoa and S. Jodh Singh Samra, the SGPC team delivered clean water and food supplies to students in the affected schools.

Manager Ruby informed that stagnant floodwater had contaminated underground sources, raising fears of waterborne diseases among children. Teachers, including S. Satnam Singh Jassr, expressed gratitude to the SGPC for providing timely assistance and ensuring the safety of the children.
