Punjab Police's Major Operation Against Drugs, 232 Cases Registered, 290 Arrested

Punjab Police, as part of its 'War Against Drugs' campaign, carried out major raids across 800 locations in the state today. During these raids, police seized 8.14 kilograms of heroin, 1.21 kilograms of opium, and drug money worth ₹8 lakh. The police have registered 232 cases and arrested 290 individuals.

A large number of police personnel participated in this operation, with raids conducted in various cities, including Bathinda, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Tarn Taran, and Firozpur. More than 8,000 police officers were involved in the crackdown.

Campaign Against Drugs:

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had previously instructed Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to take strict action against drugs in a meeting, reinforcing the government's commitment to eliminating the drug menace from the state.
