Ravinder Singh Brahmpura Meets Dr. Farooq Abdullah in Amritsar, Discusses Trade Ties

The Chairman of Punjab Rural Development Society and former MLA of Khadoor Sahib, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, held a productive meeting with Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and President of the National Conference, over lunch at Circuit House, Amritsar.
The two-hour-long discussion primarily focused on enhancing trade relations and mutual cooperation between Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. In a press statement issued after the meeting,
Brahmpura highlighted the challenges faced by Punjab's business community operating in Jammu & Kashmir. In response, Dr. Farooq Abdullah extended full support and assured an active role in resolving any trade-related difficulties.
Brahmpura emphasized the need for policies that foster economic growth in both states and proposed initiatives to strengthen business ties. The discussion also covered plans to establish a hospital and an old-age home in Khadoor Sahib in honor of Jathedar Ranjit Singh Brahmpura.
Additionally, Brahmpura reaffirmed the commitment of the Punjab Rural Development Society to providing medical aid to people from Jammu & Kashmir seeking treatment in Amritsar. The conversation also touched upon future sports initiatives, focusing on collaborative programs to nurture athletes from both regions.
Reflecting on previous cooperation during Dr. Abdullah's tenure as Chief Minister, Brahmpura recalled how athletes from Jammu & Kashmir participated in training camps in Punjab. He urged for the resumption of such sports programs to further develop talent in both regions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Brahmpura expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the people of Punjab for Dr. Farooq Abdullah's commitment to strengthening unity and brotherhood between the two states. Dr. Abdullah, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the existing strong ties and hoped to further strengthen Punjab-Jammu & Kashmir relations in the future.
