The 162nd death anniversary of 1008 Yogiraj Baba Bankhandi Maharaj, a revered spiritual figure of the Hindu faith, will be observed with great devotion and traditional fervor at the sacred Shri Sadhu Bela Tirth Asthan in Sukkur from June 11 to June 13, 2025.
The spiritual event is being jointly organized by the Pakistan Hindu Mandir Management Committee, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Shrine Branch, the Government of Pakistan, and the Sukkur Hindu Panchayat. As in previous years, this event is expected to draw thousands of Hindu devotees from across Pakistan and even internationally
The commemorative activities will include ritualistic pooja, bhajans, religious discourses, and other traditional ceremonies designed to honor the life and teachings of Baba Bankhandi Maharaj. The management has made comprehensive arrangements for the convenience, safety, and spiritual comfort of all visitors and pilgrims.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Krishan Sharma, President of the Mandir Management Committee, stated:
> “We are highly satisfied with the arrangements made by the Evacuee Trust Property Board and other supporting bodies. This sacred event holds immense spiritual importance for the Hindu community. We extend a heartfelt invitation to devotees not just from Pakistan but from across the globe to participate. It is a time for collective spiritual reflection, community bonding, and cultural reverence.”
Mr. Sharma emphasized that this occasion is not only religious in nature but also a symbol of interfaith harmony, religious tolerance, and cultural unity that Pakistan continues to nurture.
In response to a question regarding religious freedom, Mr. Sharma confidently remarked:
> “Pakistan has a deep-rooted respect for humanity and warmly welcomes guests of all backgrounds. As a representative of the Hindu community in Pakistan, I am proud to say that we are freely practicing our faith. Our religious freedoms are fully protected, and no force can take them away from us.”
The Shri Sadhu Bela Tirth Asthan, located on an island in the Indus River, is one of Pakistan's most significant Hindu pilgrimage sites. It stands not only as a place of worship but also as a beacon of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among diverse religious communities.
This year’s anniversary observance once again reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its religious heritage and promoting spiritual values that transcend boundaries
