Pakistan Squash Team Reaches Asian Games Semi-Finals, Secures Sixth Medal

Pakistan secured its sixth medal at the 2026 Asian Games after the national men’s squash team defeated the Republic of Korea 2–0 in the quarter-final of the team event.
The victory booked Pakistan’s place in the men’s team semi-final and guaranteed another medal for the country.Mohammad Ashab Irfan gave Pakistan a strong start, defeating South Korea’s Na Jooyoung 11–5, 11–8, 11–8 in the opening match.
Noor Zaman then sealed the tie with a hard-fought victory over Seojin Oh. Noor won the opening two games 11–4 and 11–5 before his Korean opponent responded with an 11–8 win in the third game.
Noor regained control in the fourth game, producing a strong run of points before winning 11–2 to complete Pakistan’s 2–0 victory.
Nasir Iqbal did not need to play the third match as Pakistan had already secured the quarter-final tie.
Pakistan will now compete in the men’s team semi-final, with a place in the final and a silver or gold medal at stake.
The result adds another medal to Pakistan’s campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and keeps the country in contention for further success in the squash event.
