Grand Celebration of Maha Shivratri at Chohla Sahib, Devotees Seek Lord Shiva’s Blessings

The festival of Maha Shivratri was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at the ancient Shiva temple in Chohla Sahib. The event was organized by the temple management committee, with support from the local community.

From early morning, long queues of devotees were seen outside the temple, eager to pay their respects and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. Head priest Pandit Kundan Ji narrated the significance of Maha Shivratri, explaining the divine journey of Lord Shiva and the importance of the festival in Hindu culture.

Langar and Community Feast

Throughout the day,  special prayers and rituals were conducted inside the temple, which was decorated beautifully with colorful lights and flowers. Various community groups organized free food stalls and langars, where devotees participated in large numbers.

Night-Long Jagran with Bhajan-Kirtan

A grand night-long devotional singing (Jagran) was held, where famous bhajan singers Suraj Saleem & Party, Rajinder Hans, and Lucky Chohla performed soulful hymns dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, mesmerizing the devotees.

Felicitation Ceremony

The temple management committee president, Vijay Kumar Kundra, and Patron Parmjit Joshi honored Sarpanch Keval Krishan Nayar and his associates for their contributions to the event.

Security Arrangements

To ensure a smooth and safe celebration, local police from Chohla Sahib police station deployed additional security measures around the temple premises.

The event witnessed the presence of prominent community members, including Shiv Narayan Shambhu, Rakesh Kumar Anand, Raman Kumar Dheer, Jagraj Singh Butter, Tarsem Nayar, Amit Kumar, Parveen Kumar Peena, Anil Kumar Babli Shah, Bablu Munim, Bhupinder Kumar Kala, Naitik Nayar, Daksh Nayar, and several other devotees.
