Punjab Police achieved a major success by arresting cyber criminal Gaurav Kumar, who had cloned the Punjab Government's mining department website and issued fake mining permits. This fraudulent activity caused a loss of around 40-50 lakh rupees to the state.

The Punjab Police Cyber Crime Division arrested Gaurav Kumar based on a tip-off. According to the police, Gaurav, in collaboration with mining business owners, created a fake website mimicking the government mining portal and issued fake permits for illegal mining. To bypass government security checks, he used QR/barcodes and generated over 2000 fraudulent receipts, which helped conceal the mining activities from authorities.

Police Uncovers Major Scam

The police have uncovered a large network behind this fraud. This group used fake documents and bypassed the government's security measures to promote illegal mining activities. The police have seized critical evidence including fake receipts, website backups, sources of mining materials, and other digital records.

Investigation Ongoing

The police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the case. Further actions are being taken to expose the entire operation. The Punjab Police Cyber Crime Division has stated that they are committed to taking stringent action against cyber fraud and crimes. The department has urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately.
