Police Arrest Two Youths with 20 Grams of Heroin in Tarn Taran

Under the anti-drug campaign initiated by SSP Abhimanyu Rana to curb social evils and drug trade, the Vairoval police station team successfully arrested two youths with 20 grams of heroin.

According to the information received, a police team led by ASI Bikkar Singh was conducting a special blockade near Pulsua Fazalpur when they noticed a white Verna car (PB-46 AH 3306) approaching from Dera Sohal village. Seeing the police, the two young men in the car attempted to turn back and escape, raising suspicion.

The police chased them down and upon searching the vehicle, 20 grams of heroin wrapped in a plastic packet was found hidden in the car’s dashboard.

Arrested Individuals Identified

During questioning, the driver was identified as Amritpal Singh, son of Gurmel Singh, resident of Dera Sohal, while the other accused was Manjeet Singh, also son of Gurmel Singh, from the same village.

Legal Action and Investigation

Investigating officer ASI Bikkar Singh confirmed that a case has been registered at Vairoval Police Station against both accused under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. The arrested youths will be presented in court to seek remand for further investigation.
