Punjab Police Cracks Down on Drug Mafia, Demolishes Illegal Houses of Drug Peddlers in Patiala and Rupnagar

In a major crackdown against the drug mafia, Punjab Police today demolished the illegally built houses of two drug peddlers in Patiala and Rupnagar districts with the assistance of local administration. This action was taken under the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann as part of the state government’s decisive battle against drugs.

Action Against Drug Peddler Rinky in Patiala

In Patiala, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Nanak Singh, police teams took strict action against habitual drug peddler Rinky, a resident of Rodhi Kutt Mohalla. According to reports, Rinky had at least 10 FIRs registered under the NDPS Act between 2016 and 2024.

SSP Dr. Nanak Singh stated that as per the orders of the district administration, the illegally constructed house of the drug peddler was demolished. He affirmed that Patiala Police is committed to taking strict action against drug traffickers and will continue such crackdowns in the future.

Husband-Wife Drug Peddlers' House Demolished in Rupnagar

Similarly, in Rupnagar, the district police and administration jointly carried out an operation and demolished the illegal house of drug peddlers Saleem Mohammad and his wife Asha.

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain and SSP Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana stated that following Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s directives, an anti-drug campaign is being aggressively pursued in Rupnagar district.

Providing further details, SSP Khurana revealed that both Saleem Mohammad and Asha had three criminal cases each registered under the NDPS Act. Police had also seized ganja and narcotic powder from them.

House Built With Drug Money Demolished

SSP Khurana further disclosed that the couple had constructed an illegal house using drug money, which was demolished with the assistance of Rupnagar Municipal Council and police teams.

Punjab Police Sends a Strong Message

This strict action by Punjab Police sends a clear message that drug traffickers and the drug mafia will not be spared at any cost. The police have warned that similar crackdowns will continue against all criminals involved in drug trafficking.
