Continuing the action under the 'War on Drugs' campaign launched by the Punjab government, on Wednesday, the district administration, in collaboration with Tarn Taran Police, under the supervision of SSP Tarn Taran Deepak Pareek, demolished the illegally built house of drug smuggler Sukhchain Singh alias Sonu, son of Dalip Singh, resident of Chohla Sahib town. Talking on the occasion, SSP Deepak Pareek said that Sukhchain Singh alias Sonu, resident of Chohla Sahib, has been involved in drug smuggling for a long time. Against this, the drug A total of 12 cases of smuggling, loot and illicit liquor are registered in different police stations and he is currently lodged in Goindwal Sahib Central Jail. Apart from this, 7 cases are registered against Sukhchain Singh Sonu's mother Dharam Kaur alias Dharmi and wife Dalip Singh under NDPS and other sections at Chohla Sahib police station, who is currently lodged in the Central Jail in Amritsar. Similarly, 2 cases are registered against Sukhchain Singh alias Sonu's wife Gurpreet Kaur under NDPS Act at Chohla Sahib police station. They had built this illegal construction, which was demolished today by the district administration with a JCB machine. SSP Deepak Pareek said that under the 'War on Drugs' campaign launched by the Punjab government, the properties of many drug smugglers have already been frozen by the Tarn Taran police and 'Yellow Paw' has been carried out on the houses of 3 drug smugglers. He said that in the year In 2025, the assets of 51 drug smugglers worth a total of Rs 29 crore have been frozen by the Delhi Competent Authority. 

SSP Deepak Pareek warned drug smugglers that a person who destroys someone's house destroys people's lives. He has no right to live comfortably. He said that Tarn Taran Police is taking many important steps to control drugs and catch drug smugglers. On this occasion, DSP Sub Division Sri Goindwal Sahib Atul Soni, SHO of Chohla Sahib Police Station Sub Inspector Baljinder Singh, District Administration and other police officers were also present.
