Renowned economist and Italy’s second President, Luigi Einaudi, served as the country’s head of state from 1948 to 1955. To mark his 150th birth anniversary, the Italian government organized a special competition called "Letter" for school students across the country.

In this competition, 18-year-old Sikh girl Simrat Kaur emerged victorious, securing first place in all of Italy with her essay on Luigi Einaudi’s life and contributions.

Simrat Kaur, who is currently pursuing Graphic and Communication studies in Cremona, impressed the judges with her insightful writing, earning the top position in the national contest. Her remarkable achievement has not only surprised Italians but has also filled the Sikh and Indian communities with immense pride.

Speaking about her success, Simrat’s father, Palwinder Singh, shared that their family resides in Rovecco di Olio, Cremona. He expressed his happiness and gratitude, revealing that Simrat has been passionate about Gatka (a Sikh martial art) since childhood, and now she has showcased her talent in writing as well. "With Waheguru’s blessings, this victory has been achieved," he said.
