COAS Asim Munir Meets Sikh Community, Pledges Protection of Religious Sites

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited flood-affected areas of Punjab including Sialkot Sector, Shakargarh, Narowal, and Kartarpur to review the situation and assess ongoing rescue and relief efforts.
During the visit, COAS received a detailed briefing on the prevailing flood conditions and preparations for the upcoming spell of rains. He praised the Pakistan Army troops and civil administration for their tireless and coordinated efforts to rescue and provide relief to people in the affected districts.
Assurance to Sikh Community
COAS interacted with members of the Sikh community in the flood-hit areas, assuring them that all religious sites impacted by the floods — particularly the revered Darbar Sahib Kartarpur — would be fully restored to their original condition on priority. He emphasized that protecting minorities and their sacred places is the responsibility of the State of Pakistan, a duty the armed forces remain fully committed to.
The Sikh community warmly welcomed the Army Chief and expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army and civil administration for their timely assistance during the calamity. COAS also conducted an aerial survey of the Darbar Sahib Kartarpur complex to personally review the situation.

In his interactions with civil administration officials, COAS lauded their proactive measures which minimized the loss of life and property.
