Ban on Political Image Kites in Lahore

Following viral visuals showing rooftops across Lahore filled with kites bearing the image of Imran Khan, the Punjab government has imposed a temporary ban on such displays. According to an official notification, the production, sale, storage, transportation, and flying of kites featuring images of individuals, religious symbols, national emblems, or political party flags will remain prohibited for 30 days.
Senior journalist Hamid Mir noted that the sudden surge of politically themed kites had altered Lahore’s skyline and caused unease among certain sections.
