Chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan and Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui chaired a meeting of MQM Punjab’s central office-bearers at MQM Punjab House, Muslim Town, Lahore, followed by an important press conference attended by a large number of journalists and party workers.
During the meeting, participants discussed in detail the activation of the party’s organizational structure ahead of the upcoming local government elections, strategies to expand public outreach, and efforts to encourage the educated middle class to join MQM.
Dr. Siddiqui directed that once the local body elections are announced, potential candidates should be shortlisted and a vigorous campaign launched to practically realize MQM’s mission of public service.
He said that MQM Pakistan represents the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, which envisions a strong, democratic, and prosperous Pakistan. He urged party office-bearers to bring more youth into politics, strengthen organizational work, and increase MQM’s presence among the people.
While addressing the press conference, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that as the Federal Minister for Education, he is introducing revolutionary reforms in the education sector, while MQM’s Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, has been delivering remarkable services in healthcare.
MQM accepted the federal portfolios of education and health in the spirit of national service. Both my performance and that of Mustafa Kamal have been repeatedly highlighted in the Federal Cabinet as examples of public service. We are part of the government not for power, but to serve the people,” he emphasized.
Dr. Siddiqui further stated that MQM does not believe in dynastic or traditional politics, but stands for the participation of the educated middle class in governance.
“Our politics is based on the welfare and progress of the people, not personal gain. The day is not far when Punjab’s educated and talented youth will also play a leading role in national politics,” he said.
The meeting and press conference were also attended by Inter-Provincial Organizational Committee Joint In-Charge Zahid Malik, Punjab President Abid Ali Gujjar, Punjab Secretary-General Karamat Ali Sheikh, and other party officials.
Zahid Malik welcomed Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to Punjab House and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to further strengthen MQM’s organizational structure and political activities across Punjab.
