Pakistan and Azerbaijan Agree to Promote Cultural Cooperation and Religious Tourism

Lahore, June 5 (Nazrana Times) – Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora held an important meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov. During the talks, both sides discussed in detail the strengthening of bilateral relations, cultural cooperation, religious tourism, and people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.


The meeting described Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to Baku as a significant milestone in relations between the two countries. Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov highly praised the Punjab government’s welfare project “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” (Our Own Roof, Our Own Home), stating that Maryam Nawaz’s housing model is becoming a positive identity for Pakistan on the global stage and that the project is an excellent example of public welfare.
On the occasion, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s development vision is being appreciated internationally, and the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” project has become a successful representation of Punjab in international forums.
The meeting also reached an agreement on promoting cultural heritage, religious tourism, and interfaith harmony between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani ambassador praised the Punjab government’s initiatives for protecting and empowering the rights of minorities, stating that these measures are playing a significant role in fostering social harmony and tolerance.


Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora invited the Azerbaijani ambassador to visit Lahore, saying that he should witness the city’s historical and cultural significance, religious sites, and practical demonstrations of interfaith harmony. Ambassador Khazar Farhadov thanked him for the invitation and expressed his commitment to further enhancing cooperation and exchanges in the future.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both leaders agreed to continue mutual cooperation for the promotion of friendship, people-to-people contacts, joint development initiatives, and multicultural harmony between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
