Karachi’s Hindu Community Celebrates Navratri with Garba and Dandiya Until October 20

KARACHI: Karachi’s Hindu community is celebrating Navratri with religious devotion, traditional music and Garba and Dandiya dances. The festivities will continue until October 20, with dance gatherings held every night.

As elsewhere in Pakistan, members of the community are taking part in the festival with enthusiasm. Colourful traditional clothing and performances to musical tunes have added to the celebrations in Karachi.

Women and girls are showing particular interest in the events. Dressed in traditional attire, participants are expressing their joy through Garba and Dandiya performances.

Members of the Hindu community said they look forward to Navratri each year. They said being able to celebrate their religious festivals freely in Pakistan brings them happiness.

The celebrations bring together religious devotion, traditional culture and colourful activities. Community members are enthusiastically participating in programmes organised for the occasion.

Throughout the festivities, nightly Garba and Dandiya gatherings will give participants an opportunity to share their joy in keeping with their religious traditions.
