Ludhiana: The monthly magazine “Sikh Phulwari,” published by Sikh Missionary College (Regd.), Ludhiana, has been playing an important role in spreading Gurmat, Sikh history, and Sikh Rehat Maryada among Sikh families for decades. The magazine has been published continuously since August 1980 and continues to connect thousands of readers with the teachings of Sikhism.
The main aim of Sikh Phulwari is to spread the message of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and to promote Sikh culture, values, and heritage among the younger generation. The magazine includes Gurbani explanations, Sikh history, Sikh Rehat Maryada, Shabad Vichar, questions and answers, poems, stories, children’s content, and other knowledge-based articles.
Published from the head office of Sikh Missionary College in Ludhiana, Sikh Phulwari is available in Punjabi and Hindi. According to available information, its present circulation is approximately 46,000, making it one of the largest circulating Sikh religious monthly magazines.
In today’s time, when children and young people are increasingly engaged with mobile phones, television, newspapers, and social media, the need to connect them with Gurmat literature has become even more important. Magazines like Sikh Phulwari are not merely reading material; they are a medium to build love for Gurbani, awareness of Sikh history, and understanding of Sikh principles within families.
Sikh Missionary College has appealed to the Sangat to bring Sikh Phulwari into their homes and encourage children to connect with Gurbani, Sikh history, and Sikh Rehat Maryada. If Sikh Phulwari reaches every home, the fragrance of Sikhi will also reach every home.
