As part of the Vaisakhi Festival and the 327th Khalsa Janam Din celebrations, Sikh pilgrims who arrived in Pakistan from India through the Wagah Border performed their religious rituals at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur. On this occasion, a traditional Kabaddi tournament was organized in honor of the pilgrims through the joint collaboration of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC), PMU Kartarpur, and the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), in which pilgrims from India and other parts of the world enthusiastically participated.
The Kabaddi tournament was attended by Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, President of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee; Abu Bakar Aftab Qureshi, CEO; Nasir Mushtaq, Additional Secretary Shrines; and the DPO and DC of Narowal.
Speaking to media representatives, Nasir Mushtaq, Additional Secretary Shrines of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, said that through hospitality and service to the pilgrims, Pakistan is spreading a message of peace and love throughout the world, as such cultural programs play a vital role in strengthening relations between nations.
Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, President of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, stated that Pakistan desires peace not only in the region but across the entire world.

He said that Pakistan is the first home of Sikhs. He described Kabaddi as the cultural heritage of Punjab and demanded that the Kartarpur Corridor be reopened immediately so that pilgrims from India may travel easily through the corridor.
The Kabaddi match was played between UK Kabaddi Club and Gang Kabaddi Club. The enthusiasm of the pilgrims during the match was remarkable, and the premises of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib echoed with slogans of “Bole So Nihal” and “Pakistan Zindabad.” The pilgrims also celebrated by performing bhangra to the beat of drums.
While talking to the media, the leader of the Indian Sikh pilgrims praised the excellent arrangements made by the Evacuee Trust Property Board and the administration regarding security, accommodation, and medical facilities. He also thanked Chairman ETPB Qamar-uz-Zaman, the security forces, and the district administration. The Deputy Commissioner Narowal and other district officials also attended the event.
The pilgrims stated that they would promote the message of respect, peace, and hospitality they received in Pakistan throughout the world.
According to the schedule, the Sikh pilgrims will visit Gurdwara Rohri Sahib Eminabad on April 17, after which they will arrive in Lahore. Following a two-day stay, they will depart for India on April 19 via the Wagah Border.
