A meeting to review arrangements for the 327th Vaisakhi Festival and Khalsa Birth Anniversary was held at the head office of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). The session was chaired by Additional Secretary (Shrines) Nasir Mushtaq.
Officials from Police, Rangers, Customs, Immigration, Rescue 1122, Sui Gas, Health Department, and district and provincial administrations attended the meeting.
Participants reviewed in detail the arrival of Sikh pilgrims, accommodation and meal arrangements, religious rituals, transportation facilities, and comprehensive security plans.
Speaking to the media, Nasir Mushtaq stated that Pakistan will warmly welcome Sikh pilgrims arriving from India and other countries. He added that all departments are working in coordination with ETPB and the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to provide the best facilities.
On the occasion of Vaisakhi, Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Gurdwara Panja Sahib, and Gurdwara Dera Sahib will be specially illuminated and decorated.
Under the bilateral agreement, 3,000 Sikh pilgrims from India visit Pakistan annually for the Vaisakhi celebrations. Pilgrims are scheduled to arrive via the Wagah Border on April 10, while international pilgrims will land at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
