AMRITSAR (Nazrana Times): Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member Bibi Kiranjot Kaur has strongly condemned the circulation of objectionable AI-generated videos targeting women political leaders on social media, describing such content as a disturbing form of character assassination.
In a statement posted on her social media account, Kiranjot Kaur expressed concern over what she described as an increasing trend of using artificial intelligence to create and circulate degrading videos involving women in politics.
Referring specifically to Bibi Jagir Kaur, Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Sonia Gandhi, she said people may have political disagreements with these leaders or may criticise their decisions, but such differences cannot justify attacks on their character and dignity.
“Whatever mistakes people may see in Bibi Jagir Kaur, Harsimrat Kaur Badal or Sonia Gandhi, I strongly condemn their character assassination,” Kiranjot Kaur said.
She also sharply criticised political parties or individuals who may be involved in creating or promoting such material, saying that those resorting to these tactics were exposing the degrading nature of their own politics and conduct.
Kiranjot Kaur urged women not to encourage or engage with people spreading such content and described the practice in one word: “Disgusting!”
Kiranjot Kaur, whose family legacy is closely associated with prominent Sikh leader Master Tara Singh, is known for speaking openly on Sikh religious, social and community issues. An educated and outspoken Sikh voice, she has frequently expressed her views on matters concerning Sikh principles, institutions and public affairs.
Her latest statement draws attention to the growing concern surrounding the misuse of AI-generated and manipulated content on social media, particularly when such material is used to target women in public life.
Kiranjot Kaur maintained that political criticism and ideological disagreement are legitimate parts of public discourse, but targeting the dignity or character of women through objectionable AI-generated content cannot be justified.
