On the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, all machinery across the province has been placed on high alert to ensure the safety and well-being of Sikh pilgrims.
In a swift response, a visiting Indian pilgrim, Kartar Singh, who fell ill in Nankana Sahib, was provided immediate medical assistance. Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, Ramesh Singh Arora, personally oversaw the emergency response and had the patient shifted promptly to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore.

With the cooperation of Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq, top-tier emergency medical facilities were made available at the PIC. Minister Arora expressed his gratitude to the Health Minister and the Home Secretary for their timely actions, stating that the performance of the Home Secretary and district administration in ensuring the pilgrims’ protection and managing arrangements was commendable.
Upon the Minister’s instructions, Head Granthi Giani Ranjit Singh and the Deputy Director of Human Rights visited the PIC. The delegation presented a bouquet to the ailing Kartar Singh on behalf of the Provincial Minister and conveyed their best wishes for his recovery.
According to doctors, the condition of the Indian Sikh pilgrim is now out of danger. Kartar Singh himself expressed heartfelt thanks to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Minister Ramesh Singh Arora for the prompt medical care.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to its guests, Minister Arora stated, “Pakistan is the home of all Sikh pilgrims, and we will leave no stone unturned in our hospitality.” He assured that 24/7 best medical facilities have been ensured for all pilgrims, and that the departments of Minority Affairs, Health, and Police remain on high alert to handle any emergency. “There will be no compromise on the health and security of Sikh pilgrims,” he added.
