President Asif Ali Zardari has successfully concluded his official visit to the Republic of Iraq and has departed for Pakistan. He was seen off at the departure ceremony by Dr. Hussain Al-Aisawi, President of the Najaf Provincial Council.
During his visit, President Zardari held high-level meetings with the President and the Prime Minister of Iraq, focusing on strengthening the historic fraternal ties and enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
The President also met separately with the Governors of Najaf and Karbala. The discussions centered on bolstering regional cooperation, fostering deeper people-to-people contacts, and exploring avenues for increased collaboration in trade and cultural exchange.
A significant aspect of the visit was President Zardari's pilgrimage to revered holy sites in Baghdad, Najaf, and Karbala. He paid his respects at the sacred shrines, expressing profound reverence and solidarity with the people of Iraq.
