Former Lawmaker Demands Immediate Deportation of Indian Pilgrim Following Visa Violation

LAHORE, NAZRANA TIMES ,

ALI IMRAN CHATTHA

 – Sardar Mahinder Pal Singh, former Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights, has called for the immediate deportation of an Indian Sikh pilgrim, Sarbjit Kaur (now Noor Hussain), citing a "blatant violation" of national security and immigration protocols.
n a press conference held Friday, Singh—joined by legal experts and Sikh community representatives—demanded that the rule of law be upheld following Kaur’s decision to overstay her religious visa after converting to Islam and marrying a Pakistani national, Nasir Hussain.
 Key Allegations of Negligence
Singh directed sharp criticism toward the **Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC)**, accusing its leadership of "criminal negligence." He alleged that the committee was fully aware of the visa expiry but failed to act, thereby compromising the integrity of the pilgrimage system.
> "This is not about religious conversion," Singh clarified. "This is about the rule of law. If those entrusted with managing religious affairs ignore the law, the entire system becomes vulnerable."
 Timeline of the Dispute
*Nov 4, 2025:** Sarbjit Kaur enters Pakistan via a short-term pilgrim visa for the 556th Prakash Purb celebrations.
*Nov 5, 2025:** Kaur reportedly embraces Islam, adopts the name Noor Hussain, and marries Nasir Hussain in Farooqabad.
*Nov 13, 2025:** The Indian Sikh delegation (jatha) returns to India; Kaur remains in Pakistan.
**Dec 26, 2025:** Legal proceedings intensify as the Lahore High Court admits a petition regarding her status.
 Legal Action and National Security
The **Lahore High Court** has now sought formal reports from the Ministry of Interior, the FIA, and the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports.
While the couple maintains their marriage is a private matter, Singh and his legal counsel argue that Nasir Hussain should face charges for "harboring and abetting" a visa violator. They suggest that once deported, Kaur could theoretically return to Pakistan legally through proper family visa channels, but insist that the current illegal stay cannot be overlooked.
Urgent Demands
The Sikh Sadh Sangat Pakistan has called for:
1. Immediate Deportation of Noor Hussain to rectify the visa breach.
2. Registration of an FIR against the parties involved for immigration violations.
3. Enhanced Monitoring and stricter background checks for all future religious pilgrims to prevent similar incidents.
The case is being closely watched as a significant test of Pakistan’s ability to balance religious sensitivities with strict immigration enforcement and minority administration.
