Former Member of the Punjab Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs, Mahindar Pal Singh, hosted a grand Iftar dinner in Cantt Bazaar, Multan, bringing together political, social, and religious personalities from different schools of thought in a display of unity and interfaith harmony.
The gathering was attended by several prominent figures including Allama Mujahid Abbas Gardezi, President of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Cantt Malik Zahid Awan, Rao Arif Rizvi, Ruknuddin Hamdi, Madam Shakuntala Devi, Basharat Qureshi, Dr. Kishore Murad Kishore, Aitzaz Saeed, former District Council member Dr. Liaquat Rashid, Zahid Maqsood, Amir Ghaffari, and many other notable personalities from the city.
Addressing the participants, Mahindar Pal Singh, who currently serves as President of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Minorities Wing West Punjab, paid tribute to Hazrat Ali (RA), describing him as a symbol of courage, justice, and guidance not only for Muslims but for people of all faiths. He noted that the honor of being born inside the Holy Kaaba and attaining martyrdom in the mosque is a distinction uniquely associated with Sher-e-Khuda Hazrat Ali (RA).
He stressed the importance of unity and harmony among different communities in the country, particularly during challenging times. He said that people belonging to different schools of thought must stand together to counter terrorism and extremism and work collectively for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan.
Special prayers were also offered during the Iftar dinner for the well-being, recovery, and early release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Participants further prayed for the development, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan and for the strength and success of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The event concluded in an atmosphere of goodwill and mutual respect, reflecting the spirit of Ramadan and reinforcing the message of unity among people of different faiths and backgrounds.
