Nikhil Gupta’s Confession Exposes India’s Global Crackdown Policy: World Sikh Parliament

Frankfurt, February 17 (Nazrana Times)

The World Sikh Parliament has reacted strongly to the reported confession of Nikhil Gupta in a U.S. court regarding an alleged plot to assassinate Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who is associated with the referendum campaign. The organization stated that the confession indicates the involvement of Indian agencies in targeting Sikh activists abroad.
In a press statement, coordinators and representatives of the World Sikh Parliament from the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, France, and other countries claimed that the case reflects what they described as an “international repression policy” against Sikhs.
The organization alleged that the matter is not limited to individuals but involves higher authorities. It also referred to statements made by officials of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), noting concerns about targeting an American citizen over the expression of political views.
The World Sikh Parliament also mentioned previous incidents, including the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and the death of Avtar Singh Khanda, calling for thorough and transparent investigations.
The group urged the governments of the United States and Canada to ensure accountability through legal processes and emphasized the protection of civil liberties. It concluded by appealing to Sikhs worldwide to remain united and continue advocating for their political aspirations through peaceful and lawful means.
