During the Gurmat Samagam held at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar, Village Kurala (Jalandhar-Pathankot Highway), near Tanda, District Hoshiarpur, in memory of Sant Baba Ajaib Singh Ji, Bhai Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal spoke in detail about the historic contributions of Kar Sewa Babas in the Khalistan struggle.
Recalling Operation Bluestar in 1984, Bhai Ranjit Singh emphasized that Kar Sewa Sewadars played a crucial role in defending the sanctity of Sri Darbar Sahib. He highlighted that 35 Kar Sewa Sewadars attained martyrdom, while five Singhs were imprisoned in Jodhpur jails. Following the orders of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and General Subeg Singh, Kar Sewa Babas were responsible for constructing fortifications inside Sri Darbar Sahib to prepare for the attack.
Bhai Ranjit Singh also pointed out that during the armed struggle for Khalistan, Kar Sewa Sewadars provided shelter and support to Sikh warriors. He particularly mentioned that Sant Baba Charan Singh Ji Bir Sahib Kar Sewa Wale honored the families of martyred Singhs with gold medals and Kirpans as a tribute to their sacrifice.
He further revealed that police officers brutally martyred Sant Baba Charan Singh Ji in a manner similar to the historic sacrifice of Bhai Mati Das Ji. Baba Charan Singh Ji was tied to the back of a jeep and dragged mercilessly, a cruel act meant to suppress Sikh resistance.
During his speech, Bhai Ranjit Singh urged the Sangat to remain steadfast in the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, take Amrit, and uphold their Sikh identity by remaining Kesadhari, Amritdhari, and Shastardhari.
At the conclusion of the Samagam, Baba Sukhbir Singh thanked the Sangat for their participation. Guru Ka Langar was served continuously, ensuring that thousands of attendees were fed as part of the Sikh tradition.
