Punjab Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan has taken notice of complaints regarding alleged medical negligence and unprofessional treatment practices at Umar Hospital, a private hospital in Sahiwal.
The Provincial Law Minister sought an immediate report from the CEO Health Sahiwal and directed that all relevant facts concerning the treatment of patients, surgical procedures, available medical facilities, and the professional credentials of the doctors concerned be thoroughly examined.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan directed that a comprehensive and impartial inquiry be conducted at the earliest to ascertain the facts. He further stated that if any negligence, unlawful medical practice, or violation of applicable rules and regulations is established, legal action should be taken against those found responsible in accordance with the law.
The Provincial Law Minister said that providing citizens with quality and safe healthcare facilities is the responsibility of the state. He said negligence in matters concerning the lives and health of patients would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He further said that public complaints would be taken seriously and that any violation of laws or medical regulations at public or private healthcare institutions would be dealt with strictly and without discrimination.
