350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji: Nagar Kirtan Moves from Chandrapur to Karimnagar, Telangana

As part of the 350th martyrdom anniversary commemorations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Nagar Kirtan, which commenced from Gurdwara Dhoabri Sahib in Assam, today departed from Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Chandrapur, towards Karimnagar in Telangana, under the aegis of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

Prior to the departure, a religious congregation was held at Gurdwara Sahib where Gurbani Kirtan was performed by the Hazuri Ragi Jatha of Sri Darbar Sahib. Giani Sultan Singh, Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, shared the life history of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and appealed to the sangat to draw inspiration from his teachings and embody Bani and Bana.

During the ceremony, the management of the Gurdwara honored the Panj Piare and prominent personalities with siropao (robes of honor). The family of S. Ranjit Singh Saluja expressed devotion by offering a Chandoa Sahib and Rumala Sahib for the Palki Sahib.

The Nagar Kirtan was received with immense devotion from people of diverse faiths, who showered flowers upon the Palki of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Along the route, the former MLA of Ballarpur, Maharashtra, Shri Subhash Chandra Rao Dhote and Shri Arun Dhote, also welcomed the procession with floral tributes. School children also participated with special enthusiasm.

At Garhchandur village, people of different faiths extended a grand welcome, expressing reverence for Guru Sahib.

Present on the occasion were SGPC Junior Meet S. Baldev Singh Kalyan, Meet Secretary S. Kuldeep Singh Rode, Incharge S. Gurmej Singh, Manager S. Narinder Singh Mathrewal, S. Harvinder Singh, Supervisor S. Harbhajan Singh, S. Ram Singh Mumbai, Head Preacher Bhai Jagdev Singh, Preacher Bhai Harjeet Singh Sultanpur Lodhi, and leaders of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Chandrapur including S. Charanjit Singh, S. Chammkaur Singh, S. Surinder Singh Gill, S. Rajinder Singh, S. Puran Singh Juneja, and S. Tirath Singh.
