Naureen Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has alleged that Aleema Khan was taken away from outside her residence along with her driver in the early hours of Saturday. She said the vehicle was later found parked at a police station.
Speaking at a press conference at Zaman Park, Naureen Khan linked the incident to the September 27 political mobilisation planned by the party.
“This is pressure ahead of 27 September,” she said, describing the date as “a historic day” for the movement seeking Imran Khan’s release. She urged supporters to participate in the planned mobilisation and said the reported action against Aleema Khan would not deter the party.
Barrister Mudassar Umar Advocate said there had been no official confirmation of Aleema Khan’s arrest at the time of the press conference. He said an order under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO), naming Aleema Khan and a man identified as Amir, had circulated on social media.
Umar said the party was preparing a legal response and called on the government to formally acknowledge the arrest so that legal proceedings could move forward.
He also said police had previously told a court that Aleema Khan was not implicated in the Dr Azma Jinnah House case. He questioned the timing of the MPO notice, suggesting it had been issued after her reported detention.
