NT Punjab Flood News ,, CABINET MINISTERS GOYAL, ETO AND BHULLAR REVIEW SITUATION ON GROUND; DISTRIBUTE RELIEF MATERIAL TO AFFECTED FAMILIES

Punjab Cabinet Ministers Barinder Kumar Goyal, Harbhajan Singh ETO and Laljit Singh Bhullar today visited Sutlej Dhussi bundh downstream from Harike Headworks. They reviewed the ground situation in flood-affected areas and interacted with families and farmers hit by the waters.

During the visit, the Cabinet Ministers distributed essential relief material to people impacted in the villages of Kuttiewal, Gharumm, Basti Lal Singh, Sabhra, Gadaike, Gatti Harike, Kot Budha Jalloke, Seeto Mahi Jhuggian and adjoining areas.

The Ministers said that relief and rescue operations in the flood-affected districts of Punjab are being carried out on a war-footing and all possible measures are being taken to protect lives and property.

They said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is personally monitoring the relief measures across all affected districts and has already announced compensation for any loss suffered due to floods. Special girdawari will be conducted to ensure timely and adequate compensation for the people, they added.

Assuring farmers of government support, the Ministers said the Punjab Government is committed to compensating crop losses caused by floodwaters. People were also urged not to believe in unfounded rumours and to avoid venturing near riverbanks and drains.

Earlier, Cabinet Ministers Barinder Kumar Goyal and Harbhajan Singh ETO inspected the bridge on the Beas river at Goindwal Sahib to review water level and flow.

Prominent amongst others who were present included Khadoor Sahib MLA Manjinder Singh Lalpura, Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Rahul, SDM Khadoor Sahib Karanvir Singh, SDM Patti Preetinder Singh along with senior officers of concerned departments.
