A meeting was held at the Head Office under the chairmanship of Secretary of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, ETPB Fareed Iqbal, to evaluate the performance of the Board’s zonal and district offices. The Secretary directed district officers to enforce market-rate rent collection for trust properties within three months, in accordance with Supreme Court orders. Upon completion of rent assessment, strict instructions were given to issue notices and ensure implementation within the three-month timeframe.

Secretary ETPB has been assigned key tasks including increasing revenue and recovering dues from major defaulters. According to a press release issued by the Board’s spokesperson, performance of all zonal administrators, deputy administrators, rent collectors, and district staff was reviewed in the meeting. Officers with poor performance were reprimanded, while those with good performance were commended.

The Secretary ETPB stated that the department aims to increase revenue by 6,000 million during the current fiscal year, and all efforts should be made to achieve this target. Directives were issued to all districts to expedite development cases to protect trust lands from land grabbers. The auction of agricultural land should be made 100% successful.

Secretary ETPB said that trict action is to be taken against illegal occupants and their facilitators to protect trust lands and increase departmental revenue. Full monthly payments of bills by defaulters must be ensured. District officers assured that due to the extension of the agricultural land lease period to eight years, most lots are now being successfully leased.
