BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri Apologise at Sri Akal Takht Sahib for Attending Sajjan Kumar’s Condolence Gathering

Sri Amritsar, October 3 ,Kanwar Partap Singh / Tajeemnoor Kaur — BJP MP from Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, who recently visited the residence of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, a convict in the November 1984 anti-Sikh massacre cases, to offer condolences following his death, today arrived at Sri Akal Takht Sahib to apologise.

Earlier, on September 5, 2026, Bidhuri had submitted a written apology to the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Today, he personally paid obeisance at Sri Akal Takht Sahib and sought forgiveness from Guru Sahib. Subsequently, he met Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj at the Secretariat, submitted his apology letter and presented his side.

Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said it was a good that MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, having realised his mistake, had sought forgiveness from Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

In his apology, MP Bidhuri said that he had always spoken against Sajjan Kumar because of his involvement in the anti-Sikh massacres. He acknowledged that even visiting the condolence gathering of a person who had participated in the anti-Sikh massacres was a sin.

Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said several other political leaders, particularly those associated with the Congress party, had also visited Sajjan Kumar’s residence. He said they should take guidance from MP Bidhuri’s apology and seek forgiveness from the Sikh community.

Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi unit president S. Paramjit Singh Sarna was also present at the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the occasion.
