SGPC Pays Tribute to Saragarhi Martyrs at Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib

On the 128th anniversary of the historic Battle of Saragarhi, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) organized a Gurmat Samagam at Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib, Amritsar, following the conclusion of Sri Akhand Path Sahib.
The Hazoori Raagi Jatha of Bhai Sarup Singh from Sri Harmandir Sahib performed Gurbani Kirtan, while Granthi Singh Sahib Giani Balwinder Singh delivered a discourse on the bravery of the Sikh soldiers in the Saragarhi battle. He highlighted how the martyrs fought valiantly and sacrificed their lives, a saga remembered with pride across the world.
During the ceremony, family members of the martyrs were honored with Siropao (robes of honor). Among those present were Additional Manager S. Bikramjit Singh Jhungi, S. Amrik Singh, Bhai Sarbjit Singh, Bhai Ranjit Singh, and Bhai Ajmer Singh.
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, in his message, stated that the Battle of Saragarhi is an eternal example of Sikh valor. He noted that 21 Sikh soldiers faced an army of 10,000 and embraced martyrdom, leaving behind a legacy of courage and sacrifice that continues to inspire the Sikh community and the world.
