Special prayers and traditional rituals held at temples in Lahore, Sialkot, Peshawar and Dadu; worshippers pray for peace, prosperity and interfaith harmony

LAHORE — Nazrana Times: The Hindu community celebrated Krishna Janmashtami, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, with religious fervour and traditional ceremonies at temples across Pakistan, including a special gathering at the historic Krishna Temple on Ravi Road in Lahore.
The Lahore ceremony was held at the Krishna Temple managed by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), where members of the Hindu community offered prayers to Lord Krishna and performed traditional religious rituals associated with Janmashtami.
Similar celebrations were organized at temples administered by the ETPB in different parts of the country, including Shawala Teja Temple in Sialkot, Kali Bari Temple in Peshawar, Thoon Das Temple in Dadu and Baba Bhagat Ram Temple in Dadu.
Special security arrangements were put in place for the celebrations to facilitate the community during the religious ceremonies.

ETPB Secretary Congratulates Hindu Community

Board Secretary Nasir Mushtaq extended greetings to Hindu communities living in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.
He said the observance of religious rituals across the country and the organization of events at the official level demonstrated the freedom available to minority communities in Pakistan to worship and observe their religious traditions according to their beliefs.
Mushtaq also said that places of worship belonging to minority communities were being protected and maintained.

Amar Nath Randhawa, a member of the Hindu Temple Management Committee who attended the ceremony, described the Janmashtami celebration at Krishna Temple as a reflection of peace, religious tolerance and interfaith harmony.
He said the event conveyed a positive message internationally that followers of different religions in Pakistan were able to celebrate their religious festivals with freedom and security.
Members of the Hindu community attending the ceremony offered special prayers for peace, security, prosperity and interfaith harmony in Pakistan.
Deputy Secretary General of Shrines Ali Asghar, Hindu Temple Management Committee member Amar Nath Randhawa, priest Kashi Ram and a large number of Hindu community members attended the event.
