Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan's Secretary General, Amirul Azim, Passes Away

Fought cancer with perseverance; continued to fulfill party responsibilities until his last moments

Lahore (Nazrana Times) – Amirul Azim, the Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and a distinguished religious, political, and movement leader, has passed away. He had been suffering from cancer for some time, but he fought the illness with extraordinary perseverance, patience, and resolve, continuing to diligently carry out the organizational and movement-related responsibilities of Jamaat-e-Islami until his very last moments.

Amirul Azim was regarded as one of the most important pillars of Jamaat-e-Islami's central leadership. In his capacity as Secretary General, he played a key role in organizational affairs, political strategy, worker training, and effectively running the party's nationwide network. He was held in high esteem across all circles of the party due to his simplicity, principled stance, intellectual maturity, organizational skills, and close connection with workers.

The late Amirul Azim's activist life began during his student days with his association with Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (Islamic Students' Union). He served as the Nazim (organizer) of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Lahore, and was later elected as the Nazim-e-Aala (Supreme Organizer) of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Pakistan. He also played a prominent role in student politics and was elected President of the Punjab University Students' Union. After completing his tenure with the Jamiat, he held various important organizational positions within Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, including Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Secretary of Information for Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, and served twice as Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan.

The deceased dedicated his entire life to the establishment of the Islamic way of life, the enforcement of the Islamic system, democratic struggle, and upholding the supremacy of the constitution and law in Pakistan. He effectively presented the party's stance at political and public levels during various periods. His speeches, writings, and intellectual guidance always served as a beacon for party workers.

Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, expressed deep grief and sorrow over the passing of Amirul Azim, stating that Jamaat-e-Islami has lost a wise, dignified, principled, and extremely sincere leader who dedicated his entire life to the glorification of Allah's religion, the Islamic movement, and the service of Pakistan.

He said that the patience, perseverance, and resolve demonstrated by Amirul Azim despite severe illness serve as a shining example for workers. The disease never weakened his spirit. His loyalty, sincerity, integrity, organizational insight, and unwavering commitment to the movement will always be remembered.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that Amirul Azim's demise is an irreparable loss for Jamaat-e-Islami, but his life, struggle, and character will remain a guiding light for future generations. He prayed that Almighty Allah grant the deceased complete forgiveness, elevate his ranks, grant him a lofty place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus (the highest paradise), and give his family, relatives, and the workers of Jamaat-e-Islami the strength to bear this loss with patience and fortitude. The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami appealed to all officials, workers, and associates across the country to offer special prayers for the deceased, stating that his religious, organizational, and national services will always be remembered with appreciation.
