Akal Takht Secretariat Refutes Reports Linking ‘Employee’ Satbir Singh to Alleged Rape Case

AMRITSAR (Nazrana Times): The Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has strongly refuted reports being circulated by some Punjabi media channels claiming that “Satbir Singh, an employee of the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib,” had been summoned by Punjab Police in connection with an alleged rape case reportedly linked to Amarjit Singh Chawla.

In a clarification issued on Monday, the Secretariat condemned the circulation of what it described as unverified and false information.

The Secretariat stated that no person named Satbir Singh is currently employed there, nor was anyone by that name employed at the Secretariat during the period concerned.

It further criticised media outlets for broadcasting the claim without first verifying the individual’s alleged association with the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has also warned of legal action against media channels spreading such reports. According to the statement, the Jathedar alleged that the reports were being circulated “at the behest of the government.”

The allegation regarding government involvement is a claim made in the statement and has not been independently established.
