President Zardari Visits Kashgar University

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari visited Kashgar University in Xinjiang, where he was welcomed by Party Secretary Ding Bangwen, local officials, faculty, and students. Established in 1962 and upgraded in 2015, the University has over 40,000 students and serves as a hub for learning and cultural exchange, with plans to expand further.

President Zardari praised the institution’s academic role, highlighting its proximity to Pakistan and its importance as a bridge for bilateral ties. He emphasized youth and education as key pillars of the Pakistan-China Strategic Cooperative Partnership and noted the University’s Centre for CPEC research.

Interacting with Pakistani students studying on Chinese scholarships, he encouraged them to excel and strengthen the friendship between the two nations. Senior Pakistani and Chinese officials accompanied the President during the visit.
